On Prem AD User Onboarding

  • Launch Active Directory Users and Computers on your Windows machine.

  • Select your organizational unit and go to the Users folder. In this case, the organizational unit is LIGHTBEAM.AI and the users folder is Users i.e LIGHTBEAM.AI -> Users.

  • Click the Add new user icon to create a user for LightBeam.

  • Complete the user details form and record the user logon name.

  • Configure the user password.

  • Click Finish to create the user account.

The new user appears in the Users folder.

  • Right-click the Users folder and select Delegate Control.

  • Click Next in the delegation wizard.

  • Click Add to include the created user account.

  • Click Locations.

  • Select the Users folder where you created the new user account. Click OK.

  • Enter the username and click Check Names.

  • The user appears in the search results. Click OK.

  • Click Next to proceed.

  • Select Create a custom task to delegate.

  • Choose Only the following objects in the folder, then select Group Objects and User Objects. Click Next.

  • Under the General tab, select Read and Read All Properties. Click Next.

  • Click Finish to create the custom task. This grants read permissions for user and group objects to the newly created user account.

  • Navigate to the Access Governance tab.

  • Select Directory Services.

  • Click New Directory Service.

  • Choose On Prem Active Directory.

  • Enter the connection credentials.

  • Configure the Active Directory schedule.

Your Active Directory integration is now complete.
