Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Connecting Salesforce Marketing Cloud to Lightbeam

Overview

LightBeam Spectra users can connect various data sources to the LightBeam application and these data sources will be continuously monitored for PII, PHI data. Example: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce, Hubspot, ADP, Marketo, etc.


Connecting Salesforce Marketing Cloud Data Source

  1. Login to your LightBeam Instance.

  2. Click on DATASOURCES on the Top Navigation Bar.

  3. Click on “Add a data source”.

  4. Search for “Salesforce Marketing Cloud”.

  5. Click on the "Salesforce Marketing Cloud" icon.

  6. Fill in the details as shown below and click on Next:

Basic Information

  • Data Source Name: This is the unique name given to any data source.

  • Description: This is an optional field needed to describe the use of this data source.

  • Primary Owner: The email address of the individual responsible for this data source. In the event of any alerts, notifications will be sent to this address by default

  • Entity Creation: LightBeam Spectra detects and associates attributes based on context to identify the individual to whom the data belongs, referred to as an entity. For example, 'Jane Doe' is an entity for whom LightBeam Spectra may have detected attributes such as Name and SSN within a monitored data source

  • Location: Location of the data source is indicated here.

  • Purpose: It is the purpose of why the data is being collected/processed.

  • Stage: Indicates the lifecycle stage of the data source, such as Source, Processing, Archival, and so on.

  1. Datasource Configuration:

Provide the credentials as shown below and click on Test Connection.

  1. Verify that you get the message “Test Connection Success”.

  2. Click on Register.

Now we are ready to browse through onboarded Salesforce Marketing Cloud datasource dashboard.

Appendix

Steps to Generate Salesforce Marketing Cloud Data Source Credentials

  1. Go to Dashboard-> Profile -> Setup

  2. In Platform Tools -> Apps -> Installed Packages ( Click on New)

  3. Add Name for your package and Save.

  4. Add new component for your package.

  5. Select API Integration -> Next.

  6. Choose Server-to-Server -> Next

  7. Choose the Permissions for API that it can have access to. ( Must select the ones highlighted in Image)

  8. Copy Datasource Credentials: Client Id Client Secret Base Domain -> http://*****.auth.marketingcloudapis.com ( value marked as '*' is base domain.)

  9. Give API access to each Business Units.

Click on add Data Source Tab in blue
Search for Salesforce Marketing CLoud in the search bar
Fill in the desired details, Click on NEXT once done.
Click on Test Connection Tab in Green
Click on Setup from the drop down menu
Click on New at the right hand top corner
Add name and the desired description, Click on Save tab in Blue
Click on Add Component Tab
Select API Integrationfrom the list and click on Next Tab in Blue
Choose Server-to-server from the list, Click Next
Select the options in the menu
Enter Credentials
Click on the toggle to turn it blue
