Requirements for Accessing ADP API

This guide provides an in-depth procedure for establishing a connection with Automated Data Processing (ADP) API. For a successful API connection, the application will need the following details:

  1. ClientID

  2. ClientSecret

  3. SSL Certificate

  4. SSL Key

Obtaining ClientID and ClientSecret

ClientID and ClientSecret serve as unique identifiers, which are necessary to authorize an application's access to ADP APIs. If these credentials are not already available, reach out to your ADP client representative who will guide you to obtain these.

Generating Mutual SSL Certificate

The Mutual SSL Certificate facilitates secure communication with ADP API. The generation of the certificate involves creating both an SSL Cert and an SSL Key.

Follow the steps below to create your Mutual SSL Certificate using the Developer Self-Service Portal:

  1. Login into the Developer Self Service Portal with your Partner Developer Account.

  2. After logging in, navigate to Certificate from the menu on the left-hand side.
