Data retention, or record retention, is the practice of storing and managing data and records for a designated period of time.
Click on the Data Retention Policy icon in the middle of the page.
This displays a small pop-up box where you need to fill in the following details.
Time Duration: Time Duration encompasses the duration for which personal data is retained by an organization. GDPR mandates that personal data should not be kept for longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Organizations must establish and adhere to appropriate retention periods for different categories of personal data, considering factors such as the purposes of processing, legal requirements, and business needs.
Trigger Event: A Trigger Event refers to a specific occurrence or circumstance that initiates or prompts the commencement of a data processing activity. It marks the starting point for processing personal data within the context of a particular project, initiative, or operation.
Scope: Scope refers to the extent or range of applicability and coverage of a particular process, activity, or set of regulations. It delineates the boundaries within which the process or activity operates and identifies what is included or excluded from consideration.
