Basic Information

  • Instance Name: This is the unique name given to the data source.

  • Description: This is an optional field needed to describe the use of this data source.

  • Assign owner: Email address of the person responsible for this data source which will get alerts by default.

  • Entity Creation: LightBeam Spectra detects and associates attributes based on the context and identifies whose data it is; these are called entities. Example: Jane Doe is an entity for whom LightBeam Spectra might have detected Name and SSN in a monitored data source.

  • Source of Truth: LightBeam Spectra would have monitored data sources that contain data acting as a single point of truth and that can be used for looking up entities/attributes which help to identify if the other attributes/entities found in any other data source are accurate or not. A Source of Truth data set would create entities based on the attributes found in the data.

  • Location: The location of the data source.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the data being collected/processed.

  • Stage: The stage of the data source. Example: Source, Processing, Archival, etc.

Accessing your Zendesk subdomain

Your subdomain is part of the URL address you use to access your Zendesk account.

The convention for accessing your Zendesk account is https://yoursubdomain.zendesk.com.

An example would be https://lightbeam.zendesk.com, where lightbeam is your subdomain. Your subdomain uniquely identifies your Zendesk account on the network.

There are a few ways to find it:

  1. Support Admin homepage

You can find the subdomain of your account on the Support Admin home page.

  1. Check your URL

If you didn't enable the host-mapping feature in Zendesk, your subdomain is in the account's URL: https://yoursubdomain.zendesk.com

  1. Request an email

You can also get a list of Zendesk subdomains associated with your email address from the Login reminder page. Type your email address, and you will receive your subdomain via email. Check your inbox's spam folder if you don't receive the email. Alternatively, this means there is no account with the chosen email address.

Tip: Bookmark the page for quick one-click access. The URL is https://yoursubdomain.zendesk.com/agent/admin/overview.
